The opportunity

A Tournament With an Incredible Footballing History

The Sussex Schools County Representative Team has been given an incredible opportunity to compete at the SuperCupNI, one of the best-known international youth football tournaments.

Previous players to have participated include Ryan Giggs, Sergio Busquets, Joe Cole, Mats Hummels, Jermain Defoe and Wayne Rooney, alongside many others who later went on to professional and international careers.

For our Sussex players, this is about much more than simply playing another football match.

It is the opportunity to experience international competition, represent their county, test themselves against outstanding young footballers and make memories that could stay with them for the rest of their lives.

Why we need your support

Why We’re Fundraising

Taking a squad to an international tournament comes with significant costs.

Funds raised will help cover travel, accommodation and tournament entry costs, giving our players the opportunity to represent Sussex on an international stage.

Travel

Helping the players and coaching team travel to and from the tournament.

Accommodation

Providing suitable accommodation for the squad during the competition.

Tournament Costs

Helping cover tournament entry and the practical costs of taking part.

Sussex is extremely fortunate to have this opportunity, reflecting the historic success and excellent reputation of Sussex schools football.

Now we’re asking the Sussex community to help make it possible.

The squad and coaching staff will walk from Newhaven FC to Eastbourne Pier, following the Sussex coastline and crossing the spectacular Seven Sisters.

The challenge is expected to take more than 6½ hours, testing the players physically and mentally while encouraging teamwork, resilience and determination.
